Moving fast are we, peoples?
How many pages is 1k words? (3?)
I take it you've all planned your outlines, or are most of you just doing this ad hoc?

Not as fast as I'd like to be.
2-4 usually. Sort of depends on font, spacing, and whether you're writing dialogue or not.
I've outlined part of the story, but all of the detail is ad hoc.

I've outlined A LOT more this year than last year and am actually finding it harder to write. Of course it's only the third day so far, so I can't make any assumptions yet, but it seems that I write more easily when it's by the seat of my pants.

Really? I am not sure which way I think is easier. I had a slow start last year and had an outline and that seems to be happening again this year without an outline. *shrug* All I know is I need to pick up the pace! I plan on getting a lot done tomorrow though because a friend and I are getting together to do some writing... hopefully we do more writing than chatting... XP

I have more of outline for one of my stories than the other, so I'm sort of experiencing a bit of both. The first one is mostly following the outline so far, but since the second one has a lot of gaps between events I'm just going with what comes to me.

\o.o/ I'm ahead of pace now (as of 11 AM) by about 300 words. Hopefully I can use tonight to push that out to a healthy lead. (That and I'm eager to get to the action parts of the story.)

Yeah, I actually managed to do that one year... randomest story in the world. I scared myself. I gave up though, after that year T.T . Just too busy... Oh well.

I'm gonna pass 25k soon. Surprisingly, I'm behind. Well, not really. I'm behind according to the faulty math I did, which I think it having me write twice as many words per day as I need to. Of course, that's a good thing. I'm basically at a point now where I have so many words to write to meet my quotas that I can only work on one story per day. I think I'll be able to catch up, although I have to work on a few school things today.

So what programs is everyone using to write? I'm using Scrivener, which I use for almost everything these days. I love it to pieces and what's really helpful is that you can enter word count goals, so you can watch a little bar fill up and turn green as you reach your quota. I also like how I can keep my notes and everything else in one project file. Last year, NaNo winners got a 50% coupon for it and I think they're offering it again this year. If that's the case, definitely get it.

Word. And then posting to a secondary blog I have. Debating on posting a link after NaNoWriMo for critiquing.

I'm alternating between Word on one laptop, Openoffice on my desktop and Openoffice on a second laptop. I'd considered writing either in that free online program that's sponsoring this year, or in google docs, but so far I've only had one crash that's lost me any wordcount, and that was my fault, so I'm not going to be writing my novel in the cloud...yet.

Sad thing is I need a new, 3rd laptop. The one with word on it is 7-8 years old and can't really be moved, and the second is a loaner from my parents that needs to be tethered to a wall to run correctly (it has a battery life of only about 15 minutes).

I'm writing in Word. Also, I'm shamefully behind. I seek to correct this today, though.

*puts on focused face*

EDIT: Woot, I'm caught up. Never doing that again. @_@

I'm behind. T_T Got sick and a few other things got in the way and I haven't recovered yet...There's a Write In on Wednesday though so if I'm not caught up by then I likely will afterwards.

I am about 500 words ahead of schedule, which isn't much but better than nothing. I am contemplating taking a break today though. So far this year's writing has been much more of a chore for me. The only contributing factor that I can think of, other than it being a different story, is the whole "I actually did planning thing". My writing is incredibly choppy and all-over-the-place and I have to constantly fight that editing urge. It's like I know what I want to say, but when I comes out it comes out as real rubbish and I know I can do better. Moving on though...

I am using the free NaNo scrivener trial and will probably buy it once that expires. I'd have gotten it sooner but the windows version was delayed. It's still pretty new to me so I am just using the basics, but yes the little word counter is great.

On a side note: I should totally include a character doing NaNoWriMo and then I can could these kinds of posts as part of my wordcount. :XD:

Well, I've officially resorted to my first "cheating" methods: using complete names and taking out contractions. Doing that added almost 600 words combined for both stories. I'll probably end up doing some more word padding since I need to get to 50k by next Tuesday.

Still behind. Only 5K along. Started doing some Word Wars to help get myself up to speed, has worked a little. Local library has a Write-In, need to find out when.

I'm still hanging onto my 2 day lead, so far so good. I think now it'll just be a question of making sure the story stays on track and I don't stall out on some wierd moment.

Totally stopped for a few days, but now I'm almost caught up after pounding out 3200 words yesterday.

I'm gonna see if I can replicate my success today.

The first few days were awful for me. *shudder* I've managed to stay caught up for the most part. 1k before I've finished today's minimum quota...the WriteMonkey typewriter noises are inspiring. *typetypetypenter-DING!*

I managed a good amount yesterday and almost caught up my shortfall from that one day's break. Should be able to get completely back on track today.

I plan on getting to 30,000 by the end of the night. :) For now, though, I need to continue on my research paper for Crisis Counseling. Actually, concerning the nature of my book, I think I might just incorporate this paper into the mix since I've written most of it during November...and I am a rebel, so the fact that I started it Oct. 30th doesn't really matter! I plan on writing beyond 50,000 anyhow (Considering I am journaling through the entire month regardless of word count), so I'll just make sure to go beyond the wordcount of the material I add in the end. XD

I might be able to cross 40k before I head off to see my school's play in an hour.

We'll see.

Very behind at about only 8000 words, stressed out this week. Mildly bored with my story so far, doing a bit of research on pirate ship battles.

Okay, I'm back on track and gonna see if I can hit 20,000 today. Can anyone tell me how to get the widgets working in the signatures? I can't seem to get it... >.>"

EDIT: Made it to 21001. GO ME!
