Hey sonicfan here,
I just bought a manga about Clamp School Defenders and I have a question.
Is it a manga that is recommendable because I found some things that were a little bit wierd?

It's generally considered one of their more poorly-written series, actually, but it really is up to the individual. If you don't care for it, then don't read it.

None of us can tell you 'yes' or 'no' as to whether you should read a series- you need to make that judgement as to whether you can handle the content or not.

If it's bothering you, take a break from reading it, give it a week, think about it, and if you decide you don't want to continue it, then don't.

Yeah, what Atria said. I'd also find reviews and definitely pray about it. As for this specific series, I've never READ it so I wouldn't know.

As most reviews don't cover the aspects that CAA covers in-depth, I don't know how helpful that would be. Especially since it's one that few people read- it's also one of their more obscure series.

Out of curiousity, what do you mean by "weird""?

I've been thinking of checking this title out myself, so I am just wondering what you meant by that.

Since Sonicfan has only posted 11 times in the last 3 years, you might be waiting for a reply for a long while. CLAMP works in general tend to be a little wierd- Tsubasa and xxxHolic had me crossing my eyes to try and understand what the explanation was for everything! xD

To answer your question animegirl, what I meant by "wierd" was that I saw some yaoi references on the manga. Since it is rated Y for youth is it appropriate?

I never use "CLAMP" and "good" in the same sentence unless that sentence is something like "I consider it a good thing that I do not bother with CLAMP anymore."

Depends on the person. I don't have a problem with it, and wouldn't have a problem showing my kids it (if I had kids), depending on how graphic they were. If it's just subtext, well, a lot of series that are loved on here can be interpreted to have that subtext. If it's like Soul-eater is with the fanservice, then no, I wouldn't think so.

And Shiroi! xD Not all their series are terrible! (though they do have a track record for bad ends).

The last time they had a completed story that ended reasonably was probably Rayearth or the original Card Captors. Just gonna throw that out there.

^ I actually didn't mind Tsubasa's end. Bittersweet, yeah, but not bad.

I dropped xxxHolic when I found out I had to read Tsubasa to understand it, partially because i never was into Tsubasa in the first place (I thought the story was... not that great) and partially because the parallel stories thing just irked me since it doubled the amount of manga I needed to buy just to understand it.

That's all personal opinion though.

Since I was able to read both series via my library (they have all of TRC and almost all of xxxHOlic), it didn't bother me that much. I... am very lucky to have that library, though!

Yeah, I didn't have library access so I would have had to dump around 200 bucks on a series I didn't care for to make the story complete.

><" Yeah.... I can completely understand why you wouldn't want to do that!
