Yeah, I need some prayer. I'm still struggling with porn. Which has gotten a little worse over the past few day because of being lonely.

I'm in kind of a "bad place" spiritually right now for lots of reasons and could use some prayer to not keep feeling this way and to not despair or keep on this path but rather have some genuine contrition and trust in God.

There's a very real possibility of me having a more severe mental illness than the diagnoses I have now and I'm pretty terrified, yet wanting to know so I can get better....I've got a first counseling appointment set up with a new therapist, but I'm starting to feel like the lyrics say in Icon For Hire's 'Get Well' - "Don't tell the others, but it's all getting old; I mean, how many times must our story be told?" =/ Ugghh...

Prayers for peace of mind would be wonderful. I feel so empty and lost and broken, without much reason... I just... am. *siiiigh*

Praying, friend.
"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

To continue in the same vain as my last request...I still feel like I'm steadily getting worse in life, drifting farther and farther away from God in my actions and inactions and a complete lack of a prayer life on a day-to-day basis, and there have been a few moments where I straight up doubted the faith altogether, and that fact eats me up inside. I need strength of will to stop doing some things and to DO others. Pray I'll have some true faith, contrition, willpower, and fortitude.

Hey everybody, so if any of you remember the "personal" issue I posted about around a month ago, please keep praying. It's gotten better in some ways but harder in others.

Also, don't beat yourself up over not getting to the 'faith' side of things. Everyone stumbles and slides through Faith because it isn't an easy task to believe. :) Give yourself credit for admitting that you do struggle with those things and are looking to change! That takes a lot of courage to admit.

Single man prayer

Postby Red_web_city » Mon Jul 08, 2013 4:22 pm

Hi CAA, I'm a 29 yr old single man, and never been married. Please pray for me to flee sexual urges & immorality. I am a sinner, and would like to stop this cycle of monthly masterbation. I believe the longest I kept myself was three months but it's not easy since I have no one to talk to about it. Ty :?: Ralph Galloza

First off, thanks specifically to Sheenar and Lynna who specifically made known they were praying for me in this. Second off, thanks to all the other anonymous pray-ers out there. Know you're all a blessing to me.

My terror and anxiety proved to be true. I was diagnosed last night with the one mental disorder I've been afraid to "have" for many years now. I'm trying to find words to know how to properly talk about it...be on the lookout for a raw blog post coming soon. I'm going to edit this message with it once it's up, for those who care.

EDIT: Here's the blog post.

The PDs, as a whole, can be even harder to deal with. :(

Re: Mature prayer topics (older or mature members only, please)

Postby Mullet Death » Sun Jul 21, 2013 12:15 pm

So, I'm not really sure how to ask for prayer help for this, but I've come to believe over the past few years that I'm mentally ill or have one or more mental disorder. Not that it's a diagnosis, but apparently I score pretty high on those self-examination quizzes on the net for obsessive compulsive disorder as an example, and apparently I score pretty high on some other things too. I'm not sure if I can make myself get help or if I can even afford it, and I have to admit that for some reason I wouldn't want my family to know about it if I was getting help and the thought of it causes me a little anxiety, and in fact, I'm shaking as I type this for some reason. All I know is, I'm really unhappy quite often and experience plenty of overlapping symptoms for various related disorders and know I probably need to do something. Did I already mention in this an earlier post? Sorry if I did but either way it's still going on.

Indeed. :( We had discussed it/them at length in my Abnormal Psych class and it really freaked me out when I started seeing myself in symptoms (not self-diagnosing, just recognition). I'm grateful my counselor is a specialist in the areas I struggle with most, though. :)

Probably should remove the info of what specific site it was from your post, it really isn't relevant to what you did and all you're doing is adding to temptation for other people to go look at it.

Also, while this is the place for mature prayer requests, you might want to keep some of the specific personal information out of your posts. It's enough to say you stumbled yet again with your struggles with lust. We don't need to know the in-depth hows and outcomes.

Still praying for you, Okami. I'm sorry for the delay in responding --I just returned from camp yesterday.

I really like the statement from your blog post about the diagnosis not being your identity. That is very important to remember. You are a child of God first --a living, breathing, beautiful human being. While having a label is helpful in tailoring treatments/therapies to help you manage your diagnosis, it should not define who you are as a person. You are worth so much more than that. :)

Actually, this is incorrect.
Because of the delicate nature of this thread and those posting in here, it's best to not go into a lot of exact detail for the sake of others struggling with similar problems. Keep it as vague and unidentifiable as possible. We don't want to be able to reconstruct the scene in our heads, basically. :\

People can and will still pray for you without knowing the exact details of your situation. Does it matter what exact visual image caused you to stumble? Not really. The point is that God knows the details and He knows your heart and that's all that matters.

Either way, praying for you and your struggles.

Will do.

Nobody's saying they won't pray for you, just that we don't need to know which site it was to be able to pray for you. It's unimportant, one site isn't any more or less sinful than another, so why does it matter what the name was? It doesn't, so there's no need to mention it. And as Goldy said, no need to explain in detail what happened, it's enough to simply say "I gave in to my lustful urges." We can more or less figure out what that means. Giving the names of sites just tempts people to go look up that site ("Hey, never heard of that...wonder what it's like...") and guys aren't the only ones who feel they have problems with lust. And it's no good to explain something in detail so that one of our lady members can imagine the scene in her head.

Just saying, if you think it's bad, don't give details that would cause someone else to do the same. Nobody's going to withhold prayer from you as punishment, we're just saying be considerate of others.

A colleague of mine was raped in December and her blood tests came back HIV positive. She's getting re-tested though. Please pray for her and her family. The, for the lack of words I can't say on CAA, man is on trial so please pray that justice will be done and he'll be found guilty.

That's horrible, GeneD --I'll keep her in my prayers! And I pray that that man is brought to justice.
