PostPosted: Tue Aug 19, 2008 6:01 pm
by Link Antilles
In this show, we talk about the Olympics, Bigfoot, and the five-second rule.

Grab the latest show here: http://www.linkantilles.com/caaradio/ or, search "CAA Gamecast" on iTunes!

Questions to the Audience:
1. What should we have done for the 20th episode of the show?
2. What sport(s) would you add to the summer Olympics?

1. I would've loved a "greatest podcast moments" countdown with Vic Mignogna, Travis Willingham, and a hamster a special guest co-hosts. That would've rocked!!!

2. I would love to see Epic Failure added as an Olympic sport. Because ANYBODY can fail, but it takes a special person to achieve EPIC FAILURE.

1.I'm just glad we finally have a new episode, seems like ages since the last.
2.I'm sure it would be hard to implement, but maybe Pro Wrestling. I say this because Pro Wrestling is also big in Mexico, Europe,Korea, and Japan, not just in America. Being a global sport,it should fit well.

I think all of these should be Olympic sports.

"You have to read the whole thing!"

Thank you, Crash. :)

1. Sung a tribute song to the Podcast styled as a parody of "Never Gonna Give You Up". If any listener of the Podcasts doesn't get the joke, may Heaven have mercy on your soul. (As soon as I type this, the tune starts... That's no fun. My idea was only semi-original.) How about a tribute using Candle Jack?

2. Although I have not been able to verify it, it seems that rotorsports, helicopter racing, is recognized by the IOC and is eligible to be added to the roster of Olympic events at anytime. While certainly not the most accessible sport, it would be fun to watch.

1. Just for kicks, I'd love to see a video of the podcast crew doing the chicken dance! XD
Either that, or the most epic DDR showdown between Fish 'n' Chips and Link Antilles. lol

2. Besides Calvinball, I'd personally love to see pod racing and kitten cannon become part of the olympic games. 8D

Wachoo fink?

1. What should we have done for the 20th episode of the show?

You should have asked this question at the end of episode 19. But we all know podcasts only reach maturity at age 21 so there is still a chance. As for what to actually do, you should maybe write, record and sing (badly, if only for comedic effect) your own little 21st Podcast Jingle. It should go something like...

We meet on Skype just to talk and chat
'bout things we'd like to see and that
is why you're here to listen to us
on your iPod or on a bus.
Now we have come a circle full
With our 3rd rate recording tool
We have our fans - let 'em not explode
When they listen to our twen'y first episode.

This is our show - C-A-A Ra-dee-ooooooooooooooh!

...only with better lyrics. (also, this can roughly be sung on the tune of Lord Bravery - if you know who that is).

2. What sport(s) would you add to the summer Olympics?

Rugby. If you can have soccer, you can have rugby.

Also, I enjoyed your response to the logo for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, which was consistent with pretty much everybody else's response when it was unveiled last year. It received almost unanimous condemnation from UK newspapers, and the Mayor of London even said that the designers should not have been paid for their work. The most bizarre development was that the logo apparently caused epileptic seizures when a multi-coloured add for it was run on television.

There were many other aspects of this episode I enjoyed too. It was overall a great episode. :)

Great show. I had "Hey listen. Hey listen. Hey listen." in my head for a while afterwards and I love the Evil Overlord List!

Questions to the Audience:
1. What should we have done for the 20th episode of the show?
2. What sport(s) would you add to the summer Olympics?
3. Would you buy dubbed manga?

1. I think a "Greatest Podcast Moments" is a great idea.
2. Breakdancing.
3. It depends on the price, but probably yes.

The London logo is really weird. Here's how they made the Chinese one. Note: It's a little violent.

Lets just say that the last few weekends would have been a terrible time to do a podcast for me personally folks (I can't speak for other podcast crew), especially today (we tend to record on sundays). We should be back eventually, but it might be a bit.

Here's the answer to "Where's the podcast?". I posted this in the Gamecast thread when Khaki asked about it.

To be honest, I don't know. Scheduling for the CAA podcast has always been an issue from the start and we ran into some complications last year.

Currently, I can't speak for the availability of the others, but I don't know much time *I'll* have to do it this year. There's a promising new job opportunity that I'm gunning for and I don't know what my schedule will look like.

Now, the Gamecast is pretty easy to do, because we have a set time, I actually know what I'm talking about (), and there's little editing needed. So, that podcast is here to stay and I really hope to improve the quality of the show with the possibility of myself having extra income.

That means I'll still be doing podcasting and there's chance we could do another CAA Radio show in the future. Just doesn't seem likely for the next few months.

Maybe if we wait long enough, we can have a podcast for the winter olympic medals. (J/K!)

How about a CAA-cast on the dangers of Rick-Rolls and how to avoid them. I'll be waitin'.

Agreed, considering I really wanted to listen in on a few =/

Bring them back Pikachu!

Reon, did you mean to say listen to the old ones?
I think we could maybe persuade Link to re-link the old episodes if there was enough demand.

If you meant listen in live as they were created... that would be an impossibility if we were to make the shows just as we made them before, since observers would take bandwidth up and the program we used for the calls has a limit of 25 in a conference call if I remember correctly, and could fill up right quick.

Until May 18th you can find all the past shows here:

http://www.linkantilles.com/podcasts/caaradio/

When I set up a new site, I'll archive them there and post a thread linking to the new archive in this forums section.
