I just realized (after several days lol) that I messed up identifiying who was in the movie preview. That was Umeko, not Houka ^^. Guess I had Magiranger on the brain that night somehow.

episode 12!

-battle royale collar!
-ripping that thing off was kind of reckless
-green's individual fight was cool. Midoranger FTW
-cool, flashback fight
-lol, dessert
-wirefu, awesome!
-"what the fudge"? um...I don't think thats an accurate translation fansubbers
-Shinkengokaioh rocks!!!!
-last scene was cute
-next week an Ahim episode! YAY! Oh, and judging by the revealed name for episode 15 i'm going to guess Carranger

In the end I'd say that episode was just ok. I liked last week's a lot better. This one had some interesting and informative flashbacks, and some good moments in the fight scenes, but it seems to me that they dropped the whole Barizog thing waaaay too fast. And all Shinken Red got to do was listen to a story and hand over that disc. For once it felt like they were stretching the fight scenes to make up for less plot.

I'm sure the Barizorg plot will be revisited. I didn't think it was dropped quickly at all. It was meant to highlight that Cid was a person who was important to Joe (and still is to a degree), but that he has comrades at the moment who are important to him now, and he needs to be with them and support them instead of abandoning them for someone who may never come back.

I do wish Kaoru had done more this episode, but when you can't transform there's only so much you can do, really. I do feel this is the one area where Gokaiger fails compared to Decade...guest stars from previous shows are awesome, but they don't have much to do except sit there and watch the Gokaigers fight and be resentful, then realize "Oh they're not that bad" and accept them. I'd much prefer how Decade did it, maybe have the past heroes get a temporary one-time transformation when they accept the Gokaigers as their heirs or something.

I just assumed that, after the ending of episode 11, that episode 12 would be *all about* Joe dealing with the revelation about Barizog and trying to get him back. and then they went and covered it in about 5 minutes, and the rest of the episode was general background for Joe, and the rangers battling that random monster from the previous episode.

13 time!!!

-so the bird thing is now a parrot?
-wait, who just read the episode title?
-wow that is a seriously creepy and awesome monster! It reminds me of that plant guy from Naruto
-ok....Ahim is freaking AWESOME!!!!
-lol, did he actually call the loan people "sterotypical" in the japanese dialogue, or was that added by the subber?
-lol, Ahim. so non-chalant about the money. this is reminding me of that one particular Cutey Honey The Live episode...
-I bet this guy is going to get a crush on Ahim
-hey hey hye. What about the money? that guy's problems still aren't solved!! she just going to send him off to get murdered by Loan sharks?
-CAAAAAAARRanger!

This episode started out really good, but I think it lost something along the way. the whole "she's not really kidnapped but her friends think she is" thing could have had more potential, and in the end its frustrating how they just seem to forget that this guy is in serious trouble and needs financial help. Plus, the fight choreography this episode seemed a bit sub-par. the fight with the minion things was descent, but not all that great, and the battles with the actual monster were...kinda bad.

Yeah I didn't like this episode much. I don't know Japanese, but I wouldn't be surprised if the guy actually said "stereotypical" in Japanese. Crooked loan sharks are a pretty big cliche in Japan.

As far as them forgetting the guy, I don't think they did. Remember, he got courage from Ahim saying that she lost her entire planet and had nothing left until she was taken in by the pirates. He just had a "Wow, compared to losing an entire planet, my problems really aren't that bad" revelation, and he said some stuff about ambition and hope and all that.

Well, we already saw from the preview that the Turboranger keys are going to be used in the Carranger episode, maybe the Go-Onger keys will get used too so we can have the three car-themed Sentai in the episode. Carranger was a fun, goofy series that was sort of a parody of Sentai (fun fact: while Power Rangers Turbo, the PR series based on Carranger, almost completely killed the PR franchise, Carranger saved the Super Sentai franchise after Ohranger almost completely killed it), so next episode will probably be extremely silly in keeping with Carranger's tone. It also makes me wish Carranger was completely subbed (there was a group doing it, and might still be doing it, can't remember the name of it, but they're not done and it's been a couple of years since they started).

But he still needs the money! All the feel good "my problems aren't so bad" Aesop learning in the world isn;t going to make 30 million yen appear out of thin air, and if there was a legit way he could have earned that much money in time to pay back the loan before, I'd think he would have tried that first before resorting to attempted kidnapping. Yeah he learned a lesson about feeling sorry for himself and became a better person, but he didn;t recieve any *practical* solutions to his money problems. As far as we know, he's just going home to get killed by the Loan shark goons after this, and thats definitly not a happy ending. they could have at least had him say something like "I'm going to go to the police and let them handle the loan sharks", so we aren;t left wondering what's going to happen to him.

I actually thought Power Rangers Turbo was a good season, I never got why everyone else hated it so much. I liked it way more than Zeo, even with Justin.

The big reasons everyone seems to hate Turbo are:

1. No real good reason to switch powers. The obvious answer is "Because they needed to use the Carranger footage." But in-universe, no real reason is given for the switch to the Turbo powers, especially after the Zeo powers were said to continue to grow stronger as time went on. But suddenly Zordon is all "Hey have some new powers and Zords because...um...because!"

2. Justin. No one really seems to care for him, and the whole "child growing human size" thing they had going on seems to really cheese people off I guess, which is funny because Dairanger did the exact same thing two years before Turbo did and everyone seems to love Dairanger.

3. Complete departure of anything relating to the first few seasons. It's inevitable, but Turbo was where a LOT of past cast members vanished. Tommy and the more familiar Rangers are the obvious ones, but Ernie was gone, Bulk and Skull were "gone" (they were monkeys, which isn't the same as the actual people being there), but the other big one (even more so than the Rangers) was the absence of Zordon and Alpha 5, instead getting some lady and an extremely annoying and stupid Alpha 6.

4. Problems with the footage. Carranger, as stated, was sort of a parody series in Sentai, and was extremely goofy. The writers of Turbo seemed like they couldn't decide whether to embrace the silliness or try and work around it, and stuff like the "evil pizza" episode came off as horribly awful when you're trying to maintain at least some semblance of "We're here to save the world from evil!" Carranger never portrayed the villains as real threats, and its focus was on traffic safety and the villains were just an intergalactic biker gang who reveled in breaking the law. While they were hired by the major villain to try and blow up Earth for a space highway, it was just more of an excuse for them to hang around Earth than a serious "The planet is in danger!" thing.

5. The Phantom Ranger. Lack of any reveal of his identity really rubbed a lot of fans the wrong way.

I've never seen Turbo, but these seem to be the major complaints against it.

I'd blaim the whole switching powers problem more on Zeo than Turbo. Zeo's "final episode" was anticlimactic to the point where I didn't even realize it *was* the final episode of the season until much later. It just felt like a regular episode, not a season finale; they could have done a much better job of ending the machine empire arc and maybe de-powering the Zeo crystal somehow to make way for the next movie.

I never had any problem with Justin as a concept; I actually thought it was about time they had a kid power ranger . The thing I hated about him was they had to make him a super genious brain so he could A) take Billy's place as smart guy, and B) go to school with the other rangers, all of which worked to make him unrelatable to the younger audience he was likely aimed at. I mean, how many 12 year olds attend high school? relatively few I'd think. But I'd say he's only really about as annoying as Chibi-usa is in Sailor Moon R and S. he had plots revolve around him sometimes, but there were still the other 4 rangers to enjoy.

Bulk and Skull were really only gone for half the season; they came back later, and had some pretty good screen time.

the footage was actually one of the reasons I liked Turbo a lot. I think Turbo used MORE stock footage than any other season of the show, and it was all pretty interesting . In contrast, I think Zeo's use of stock footage was terrible, and the Ohranger footage we did see I did not find to be that interesting.

For me the main thing I liked about Turbo so much more than Zeo was the villains. I *hated* the machine empire, I thought they were xtremely boring and lifeless one dimensional villains. Divatox and her crew, on the other hand, were HILARIOUS!!! and a nice breath of fresh air after the stuffy previous season.

Episode 14:

-O_O the bird thing turned into an Engine!
-ok...I can already tell we're in for a weird time here
-that monster is male!?
-worst monster ever!
-hahah, he smacked his own sillouette. and where did the drinks come from?
-RUN AWAY!!!
-Hamlet!
-Dodge it yourself next time!!! lol
-hahaha, getting ordered around by the enemy
-Wrong one! hahah.
-yay! I like the carranger theme music
-so no new upgrade this time. just a new attack in their normal form
-wait how did he shrink?
-yay! Carranger pose!!!
-"I guess not all the powers are going to be useful" haha
-Guess its time to entre the phase "putting random clips from the upcoming movie in the opening/ending" of the show. how annoying. Now the actual ending won;t be back for a while >< those scenes are pretty cool though.
-Next episode! Gokaisilver!? and...he is very feminine. very very feminine. so...he's the Gokaiger equivalent of Jack Sparrow? And it seems he'll be the "DiEnd" of this series, what with his power. and Akared is back!

Well, glad to see Gokaiger continuing the fine sentai tradition of the writers totally losing their marbles for an episode and just giving us something insane. That was awesome. Best episode ever!! Can't wait for next week either.

If you can believe it, this episode was actually less insane than an average episode of Carranger itself.

Oh, and a bit of exposition about a line in this episode, and why Carranger is so notoriously difficult to sub:

Aliens in Carranger can never pronounce the Earth's name correctly. They overemphasize the "chi" in "chikyuu". If you're at a low level of fluency, you won't realize this is a joke because you probably say "chikyuu" wrong the same way.

So Haroranger's lousy v1 subs missed this joke (and others) completely. Ctenosaur, who tried to translate Carranger on VHS, translated the mispronounced chikyuu as "Eaaaarth." Accurate, but annoying to read over and over again.

Gao Subs Forever translated it as "Earf" for the first time in Ohranger vs. Carranger. Haroranger incorporated this into the v2 Carranger subs. I imagine Over-Time used it to be consistent with the other translations.

The actual joke in this scene is that Kyosuke assumes all aliens can't say "chikyuu" correctly, even though the Zangyack speak perfect Japanese.

So there you go! And nah, the guy from next episode apparently is not GokaiSilver according to what I've read. He's just a guy who was part of the Red Pirates and stole some of the Ranger Keys. They probably will get them back from him in this episode, which will allow GokaiSilver to use them later.

I loved the key revving they did with the Mobirate...and their use of Turboranger instead of Carranger. I wish they'd used Go-Onger too but ah well.

episode 15

-ARG! Hate monkey type monsters
-Basco is extremely feminine.
-Akared!!! but why won't he untransform!?
-so there were only three members of the red pirates?
-I think a show focused on their journey to find the ranger keys would be interesting
-Still want to know where the Gokaiger ranger keys came from
-Gold phone! so does that mean Basco can morph too? is he Gokaigold or something?
-6th ranger battle! awesome!
-more 6th rangers. hey, whose that one that looks like a Kamen Rider? is he from Goseiger?
-wow that was harsh.
-Next weeks episode looks epic! can;t wait

Episdoe 16!

-I wish the subbers would stop throwing "Savvy" into the subs. I don;t think thats an accurate translation, so they;re obviously just throwing it in to be more "piratey" and probably as a Jack Sparrow refrence,
-equivalent exchange!
-nice flashback
-Best Escape EVER!!!
-wow, Red vs Magishine was great
-So the monkey creates monsters?
-Bull Black! Dekamaster! the...police thingy from Carranger. And...is that Wolzard Fire? Awesome! Why does he have another Shinkenred key though? Is it because there were two Red's in Shinkenger, the guy and the girl? I thought they had the same power and everything? I can;t tell what the keys in his other hand are.
-Gokaisilver looks AWESOME! And it seems that he may be an earthling, not another pirate from space. Which is cool, could add a nice new element to the team. Also looks like the main team can use the 6th rangers keys too.

This episode was a bit dissapointing. the on-foot fight scene with the 6th rangers was cool, but the giant monster fight was just tacked on, and added nothing to the episode. I'm going to guess that Basco is going to stick around for a while and become a secondary antagonist, along with the Zangyack. Or he may even supplant them as the main villain.

So the only Sentai heroes that seem to be missing a key are Deka Gold, Deka Bright, X-1 Mask, and Ninjaman.

Not sure why the others are excluded, but as far as Ninjaman goes, the story apparently is that Toei sent the Ninjaman suit over to Saban for them to use as Ninjor in Power Rangers. When production of the series moved to New Zealand, stuff was auctioned off for money, and the Ninjaman suit apparently was one of the items sold. So Toei no longer has the suit.

And yes, the Shinken Red key Basco has is Kaoru's power. They don't have exactly the same power, though. Kaoru's fire power was a lot stronger than Takeru's if you recall (it was a plot point in the episode where Kaoru appeared).

So anyway Gokai Silver is totally awesome. Also, this episode clearly takes place after the movie, making the movie canon, and knocking out 11 other teams, bringing their unlocked potential up to 17 teams. This is good, because it means there's only 17 (possibly 18) teams for them to unlock the true potential of, which fits in nicely with the fact that there's about 30-33 episodes of the show left.

By the way, the 11 powers they got are reported to be: Goranger, JAKQ, Denjiman, Goggle Five, Dynaman, Bioman, Turboranger, Dairanger, Boukenger, Go-onger and Goseiger.

Some people are pretty upset that Dairanger isn't going to get an episode devoted to it, and I'm kind of bummed that Go-Onger isn't going to either.

DOUBLE EDIT: Because I'm an idiot. Apparently the official site confirms they gained 11 powers from the events of the movie. So they have 17 now, those being the ones I just listed plus Magiranger, Dekaranger, Gekiranger, Gaoranger, Shinkenger, and Carranger. Supposedly Gai has 3 powers, which would give the Gokaiger overall 20, but I'm not sure.

Also the "possibly 18" is for the possibility of them having to unlock the Gokaiger powers themselves...which probably won't happen, but isn't impossible.

Not surprised there's no Dekagold key. That ranger only showed up for like 1 second total of screen time, I doubt there's even a full costume of it..wouldn't be surprised if that 1 second of footage in the Dekaranger movie was just a different costume digitally altered or something.

Still seems weird that there would be two Shinkenred keys. Do the costumes look any different?

yeah, I'm dissapointed too that there won;t be any crossovers for Dairanger, Boukenger, or Go-onger. Seems odd that those would be crammed into the movie, considering the last two are fairly rescent series, and I would think they'd want to focus on the freshest sentai seasons for their crossovers (plus it would probably be easier to get actors back for cameos for the more rescent shows) but maybe there were some good scenes for them in the movie. Not surprised that we've caught up with the film (is it even out in theaters yet?) since the movie was delayed for longer than the show itself was after the earthquake. So do you think the movie is supposed to fit in-between 16 and 17? or would it make more sense for it to come between 14 and 15, before Basco and the 6th ranger keys showed up?

well, time for episode 17!

-gatling gun wheels! awesome. also nice to see new animation
-the Goseiger power...was kind of lame
-"Before that we got new ranger keys from Basco" ok, I guess that answers my question about movie placement
-Did Luka go and raid Phillip's wardrobe today?
-hahaha, so Silver is a fanboy.
-Timefire! Dragonranger! Abarakiller!! my three favorite rangers in the same battle!! awesome! Didn;t really get to do much though :(
-lol, Don drove it off completely by accident
-hey, what did he do with Don in his little fantasy!?
-jogger guy doesn;t react to random explosions right next to him?
-Gokaisilver's morpher and morph sequence are awesome!!\
-gar, can;t see who all the buttons are on his phone
-great intro speech.
-I like how his helemt is a bandanna
-wow, the incompentent prince actually came up with a good plan this time.
-yay, no giant monster battle!
-I just realized...how is the movie going to explain the presence of Abarakiller and Dragonranger in the big ranger battle?
-next episode preview! Wait a minute....is that...Mikoto!!!!! but...he's...*brain explodes* so..he's got the powers of Zyu, Time, and Abarangers. I wonder if they're going to be treating Gokaisilver's power collecting as seperate from the other rangers. I kind of hope so. And I hope this doesn;t mean we'll be missing out on Zyu, Time, and abaranger crossovers. that would be dissapointing. The title for the next episode definitly suggests an abaranger focus.

That episode was pretty good. Gai was hilarious, I think he's going to be a great addition to the cast. Can't wait to find out more about how he got his powers and where the Gokaisilver key came from. I already have a few speculations, my main one being that maybe Gokaisilver is an "artifical" ranger created by someone (a villain perhaps) to emulate the other ranger powers and maybe infiltrate them? Marvelous did seem pretty sure that there were only 5 gokaiger keys, and you;d think Akared would have mentioned a 6th one if he knew about it.

Gokaiger is back! time for episode 18!

-I see Silver has not been added to the credits yet
-flashback time! ok...so, is Gokaisilver going to turn out to be dead all along? that would explain why he was able to meet those guys at least, and would kind of make sense, him being the 6th ranger and all
-Mitoto!! So I guess they couldn;t bring back Burai and Naoto's actors?
-so..the dead sixth rangers created the gokaisilver morpher and key
-Marvelous is being kind of a jerk
-hahaha, marvelous handed him the wrong 6th ranger
-Silver ranger team!
-wow, love silver's final wave
-Silver's mecha is super cool. and it loosk like it can use three different team powers at once, that has potential.
-looks like next week is a Don focused episode. And Silver is already getting a new power.

Episode was pretty good. Loved the flashback scene, and the fights. For once the mecha battle was actually good. Still dissapointed that this probably means no crossovers for aba, time, or zyurangers.

Silver wasn't added to the credits yet because at the beginning of episode 18, he still wasn't officially a member of the crew yet, and on top of that his mech hadn't been introduced. I fully expect him to be in the credits next episode though, and if not by then, then definitely by episode 20.

As far as Burai goes, apparently the guy who plays him retired from acting and runs a restaurant business, so it was extremely unlikely he was going to show up in the first place. Not sure why they didn't/couldn't get Time Fire's though. This does pretty much confirm we will have no guest appearances from Timeranger whatsoever though, seeing as how Time Red's actor seems to want nothing to do with Super Sentai, and the other members are from the future and thus are unlikely to show up.

Time for episode 19! Lets see if Silver is in the credits

-cool! Nice to finally get an explanation for how they can always get the keys they want during battle. I had been wondering that.
-hahaha, Don is wondering the exact same thing I was two episodes ago.
-why do they keep translating "don-san" as "dr. Don"? shouldn't it be "Mr. Don"?
-yay! he's in the credits! and its nice that they actually added him to a lot of scenes, instead of just adding one shot of him in the role call and a few mecha shots, like they tend to do. A little spoilerish though, with the shot of the armor (which he doesn;t get until this episode) and some mecha forms we havn't seen yet
-whoa, that monster...is really creepy.
-ok, so now are they going to make Gai an ace at everything? I hope not. Poor Don, feeling inadequet
-seriosly, how is a random untrained civilian that good at fighting un-morphed? or does being a ranger transfer fighting ability to you even when your not transformed?
-random comment. I kind of wish Gai would get rid of the scarf, I think it looks kind of dumb. and I hate it when a guy walks around with suspenders just hanging down behind him like that. Wear them right, or just take them off!
-ok, so he doesn't *literally* steal bones, he steals your "spine" so you become cowardly and don;t want to do anything anymore?
-hahahah, can;t decide which color to be. and that makes me wonder...where did Gai actually learn all his super sentai knowledge?
-gold and silver ranger!! lol. I wonder if he can do that with any other ranger keys. Probably not, since it would entail making a bunch more new suits
-who actuallys *says* yawn outloud anyway?
-great flashback
-yay, non-stock footage transformation!
-that key looks cool. I hope this doesn;t mean that the 6th ranger keys will no longer be usable individually though
-hey, isn;t that sound effect from...Tron!?
-that final wave was AWESOME!!!!!
-hahaha, great final scene
-when are they going to stop pimping the movie in the ending theme? I'd like to get the old ending animations back now.
-next week, Gingaman!!!! Is that...Bull Black's actor? and the rest of the ranger keys showing up!

Anyway, that was a GREAT episode!! exciting battle scenes, cool looking monster, excellent character development for both Gai and Don, and pretty funny too. And the Gokaisilver gode mode was awesome. Can't wait for next week's episode.

Okay, last time I tried to post in this thread, my post was forever lost, hopefull it'll go better this time.

When someone is a doctor, you usually call them such out of respect. If you lived next door to one for example, you'd likely say "Dr. Smith" and not "Mr. Smith." So even though he's not using the exact word for "doctor," he's still using a term of respect, and since Don is a doctor, it's Dr. Don as opposed to Mr. Don.

The movie ending will stop once the 199 Heroes movie is no longer in theaters. Shortly after that though the opening will be changed to advertise the actual Gokaiger movie (which apparently has a cool ghost ship Gokai-Oh).

So it looks like Basco will be a recurring adversary, only showing up once in a while to stir up trouble and likely giving the Gokaiger team a chance to get some more Extra Hero keys. Looks like next week we'll get to see Wolzard Fire, Magi Mother, and Deka Master in action.

But I'm more confused about the dialog. It seems to imply the episode will focus around Bull Black wanting his powers back, and Gai having to give up his GokaiCelluar to do so. I'm confused about this. From what I understand from people who've seen 199 Heroes, all a previous Sentai member has to do is get their key and their powers will be restored. But even assuming that they'd need the Mobairate and their key, it should only be a one-time deal and they wouldn't need the Mobairate after that anymore. That's how the Goseigers were able to team up with the Gokaigers after all, they got their keys and got their powers back (but obviously voluntarily give them up again at the end).

So that should mean all Bull Black needs to do is get the key with his powers, and he should be able to transform again. Gai shouldn't need to give up his GokaiCellular or stop being Gokai Silver to restore Bull Black's powers. However, maybe the rules for Extra Heroes are different than for core members, or maybe there's something different or unique about Bull Black's powers that wouldn't make it as simple as touching the key, unlike how it was for the Goseigers. Guess we'll just have to find out next week I guess.

But back to this episode, it was pretty good. The MOTW's voice sounded familiar, but the only other thing I recognize his VA from is Hatsuharu from Fruits Basket, and he obviously didn't use the same voice for this as he did there. So ah well. I did like the Go-On Wings key thing they did. It was weird, but kinda cool. I did like how Metalman took a screencap of it and posted "Count up your sins! Wait, wrong series."

All the rumors I'm hearing sound pretty interesting as well. For example, even though supposedly the Go-Onger power was earned in the movie, there's going to be a Go-Onger episode where they get Speedor as a mech add-on. Someone said there was a model of the toy at a convention but pictures weren't allowed. It makes sense though since Go-Onger's toy sales were so high (especially compared to the previous series, Gekiranger, which in terms of toy sales was a total flop, and thus why the tribute episode for that series was fairly underwhelming as well as not having a toy add-on). Supposedly also Boukenger is going to be the next tribute episode after Gingaman. Nothing to do but wait though.

cool, that gives me hope that we might end up with an aba/zyu/time crossover later afterall, but only a little.

Maybe the inconsistancy with the powers thing is just due to the fact that all that stuff was in the movie instead of the show. I know they made it obvious that the movie is canon this time around, but its still not uncommon for there to be plot inconsistancies in a "movie of the series", since they write them in a way that you don;t *have* to see them to understand the show.

One of the rumors I kept hearing on tvtropes is the possibility of an american power rangers crossover, which would be awesome. There was an interview a while ago where Johnny Yong Boch said he'd had some work in Japan, so that got people's minds racing.

Sounds like something one of the idiots on Rangerboard would spout off. Those guys think literally EVERYTHING is a reference to Power Rangers. Know why the Zyuranger were shown during the Legend War? Because of Power Rangers!

I actually saw someone, during the episode where Gai turned into King Ranger, claim it was a Power Rangers reference because they were all "He wanted Shinken Gold but they gave him King Ranger and guess where King Ranger was referred to as the Gold Ranger? Reference detected." Despite the fact that of course it was a joke about how King Ranger and the Shinkenger have kanji on their faces.

So yeah, I don't buy it. At any rate, this isn't why I was posting. I was posting because someone got pics of the Go-Onger toy for Gokaiger.

Image

Well...it doesn't seem to be Speedor. Maybe it's a completely new Engine? If it is, I wonder if he'll have a personality and voice. I don't expect him to be a regular character like the Engines in Go-Onger were, but if he talks and stuff that's good enough.

they have had at least one real refrence to power rangers though, in that one episode where they became Go-onger and used the attacking ability from the American version.

Yes, that's very true. And the reason for that was because Sakamoto did the directing for that episode, and he worked on Power Rangers. But he only directed a couple of episodes, and it wasn't an overt reference or anything.

Anyway, now this episode makes sense. They didn't have the Black Knight key, Basco did. Hyuuga wasn't wanting the Black Knight powers, he was testing Gai by saying he wanted Gokai Silver's powers. And, just like people who saw 199 Heroes said, a previous warrior touching their key gives them their powers back.

I do wish Hyuuga had transformed into the Black Knight and helped out the Gokaiger, but it's okay that he didn't. A lot of people were upset though that there was no Gingaman finisher or Ultimate Power demonstration. At least we got a proper transformation and theme song though.

Oh, and someone said that Ginga Yellow's favorite food was donuts...hence the reason for Don bringing donuts to the Gingamen.

episode 20!

-lol, with Gai on the team, I guess figuring out Navi's weird clues won;t be so difficult anymore!
-wait! Isn't Hyuuga dead?? (looks it up) I guess not. And I'd always been calling the actual power "Bull Black", but it seems that Bull Black was the name of the guy who had the power before Hyuuga, and the power itself is "the black knight"? hmm. You know, that is kind of weird...I think "Bull Black" makes a better name for a ranger style power than "the Black Knight" but whatever.
-Magimother! Wolzardfire! Yay, two of the most under-used rangers ever getting a battle! lol, he still has the box of donuts
-so is Gai supposed to be like the in-show equivalent of a kid who grew up watching Sentai and was a big fan? Cuase thats how its starting to come off.
-hahaha. die monkey!
-Gingared (I assume thats red at least) looks kinda...old. Hyuuga's actor actually looks younger than he does.
-Basco's gun looks cool
-wow, un-morphed fight with 4 evil rangers. hard core!!!
-lol, just shoves him out of the way.
-:( another dissapointing mecha battle.
-and the ending theme is now taken over by the second movie footage. and I must be honest, It doesn;t look as interesting as the 199 heroes film
-next week, Boukenger!! Looks like it could be pretty good. And looks like Gokai-oh gets a new sword.

Was a pretty good episode, but not as good as the last one. Fight scenes were great, loved seeing Magimother and Wolzardfire. Judging by the upcoming episode titles, it sounds like 23 could potentially be a timeranger crossover. *crosses fingers*. Episode 22 has something to do with a shooting star; does that have any connection to a previous team's theme?

episode 21!!:

-hahah, this time the treasure found you!
-more movie continuity
-revrse psychology! so transperent
-what is Don doing with that Whisk thing?
-HAHAHAHAH I just knew they were going to end up choosing the wrong ninja teams
-haha, it looks like she's throwing comic book sound effects
-cool, just like a video game puzzle
-hey, is that a boukenger vs super sentai refrence at the end.
-Agent Abrera in the movie preview!! and I spotted one of the minion monsters from abaranger
-looks like no crossover next week. But a whole lot of team changing.

see, THIS is the kind of crossover episode I want. Something where the older rangers can actually be involved in the plot, that pulls in elements and villains and stuff from the older series, instead of just all these "previous rangers make brief mentoring apperances" type corssovers. Something more akin to what we used to get in the yearly crossover movies. I think this is the best crossover episode we've had since the Dekaranger one. Battles were pretty good too, and the mecha fight *didn;t* suck, yay!

Yep, apparently Boukenger vs SS is canon as far as Gokaiger is concerned, since Akashi appears to know AkaRed.

Yeah this was a really well-done episode, I think it's definitely on par with the Shinkenger episodes as far as I'm concerned.

I also liked Gai's "There's really no spot for me in a Kakuranger lineup..." which makes me wonder. It's clear the main team can use the Sixth Rangers/Extra Heroes keys, but can Gai use keys from main teams? I don't see a reason why he wouldn't be able to, and maybe it's just a matter of he's a Sixth Ranger so he wants to exclusively use Sixth Ranger keys, but there's no reason he wouldn't fit in a Kakuranger lineup if he can use main team keys and two of the other members aren't there.

episode 22

-lol, super sentai encyclopedia
-so is Joe's thing going to be that he hates kids and has to learn to appreciate them in this episode?
-lol, mixed up the teams again. Joe actually reminds me a lot of Abareblue personality wise, too.
-haha Luka saved Don
-just throws him at them. poor Don. and..why not transform?
-um...where was Gai keeping that giant spear in his civilian form?
-hmmm. I'm going to make a guess that his friend is dead, and thats why he's so obsessed with keeping the promise.
-the Goseiger powers were cool. Dairanger!!!!!
-boy this episode has had a lot of costume changes
-hehem, cut straight to the giant fighting.
-a scrape like that shouldn't have bled that much
-meteor!!! Where is Bruce Willis when you need him?
-so he;s not dead afterall. good
-O_O. whats up with the cheerleaders in the movie preview?
-so next week its GogoV! Cool. And its centered on Luka and Ahim! And more ranger keys!

Wait, so does this mean G3 Princess is in the Gokaiger movie? It was in the middle of the movie stuff, so...it kind of implies that they'll be in the movie...but that's really weird. Does this mean Go-Onger's ultimate power is gonna be in the Gokaiger movie then?

Anyway this episode was okay I guess. I enjoyed the suit changing but that's about it.

Also, whoa, GoGo V. That's the oldest series they've done yet (excluding the movie). I keep hoping we'll get episodes that focus on older teams, but I know that we won't really because the show exists to sell toys, and toys based on shows kids probably won't remember is a bad idea...same reason as to why Gekiranger didn't get a toy (because toy sales of that series were extremely poor, so it would have been a bad idea to have a toy for it).

Episode 23!!

-ok, first question. why is there a thorn on board the ship? or did she mean something else, like needle?
-*shock!!* Gai wasn;t able to identify the sentai team based on that prediction!?!?
-Gai is...a bit too enthuisastic
-lol, crossdresser!
-O_O? is the pink ranger from fiveman supposed to be copying Cutie Honey?
-makeovers!
-all of Bascoe's "piratey" phrases in the subtitles are getting kind of annoying
-hahaha, awesome, she was using Magipinks's power. thats a pretty clever ranger power use.
-what the heck are the green thing that looks like a chameolon and the black lion looking thing? What series are they from?
-hey, they;re back outside that dome looking building again. That same building shows up in like every sentai series. and in Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon too if I recall
-poor Gokaisilver, left out of the line-up for this week's power. where is a platinum ranger key when you need one ^^?
-I love the GoGoV theme. Its so catchy
-that monster is pretty cool looking. too bad its just a random creature thrown out so this episode can have the obligatory mecha fight :/
-that battle wasn;t that bad though.

This episode was pretty good. Loved the focus on Ahim and Luka, and the scenes of the others trying to help people were hilarious. Cool to see a few more tidbits about one of the ranger's pasts. But once again, I found myself wanting much more screen time for crossover part of the episode. The role Go Pink had in the episode was pretty cool, and she seemed like an interesting character, and it made me want to see even more of her, and possibly her team mates too. And was it just me...or did Luka and Ahim seem to take a lot of abuse in this episode battle wise?? They still held their own and pulled off some cool stratigies, but they seemed to be getting knocked around by enemy attacks a bit more than normal too. I mean, they got smacked out of their transofrmations TWICE in the same episode.

I've seen the first three episodes of Fiveman but I'm not aware of it being some sort of tribute/parody of Cutey Honey, especially since Fiveman was fairly serious.

Also, I was expecting the Tatsumi disguise to be the Goseiger Camomirage. But magic works just as well.

The lion/chameleon rangers are Rio and Mele from Gekiranger. They're part of the villains of the show, who actually join forces with the Gekirangers near the end. That's about all I know as I never watched Gekiranger, but they were in Go-Onger vs. Gekiranger so that's why I'm familiar with them. As an aside, when Gekiranger was adapted into Jungle Fury they changed Mele's outfit a bit because of the eye boobs on the original.

Also, about GoGo V's lack of sixth member. One of the themes of the series was that it was about family since all five members were siblings. I've heard that there were plans to introduce a sixth member in the series, but the directors/writers scrapped it because their only options would be to introduce a non-family member, mucking up the theme, or putting in some sort of "long lost child" which seemed out of character for the Tatsumi head of house.

What I hear is that they designed what would become the Titanium Ranger suit, even though they never used it in the show, but sent it to Saban for use in Lightspeed Rescue. The weapon however was completely American created.
