CAA: Christian Anime Alliance

Dear CAA'ers,

As of this August, our website will be 6 years old. We've got tons of great members, a fantastic staff, reviews, games, threads on everything imaginable...what more could a girl want, right?

Sadly my friends, we are missing one key ingredient: a mascot! There might even be cash prizes!

So from now until July 25, 2007 we will be taking submissions on the thread in the Contest forum. Winners will be announced in August.

Now, just a few things I have to mention and then you can be off on your happy, mascot-filled ways:

- The mascot MUST be an original design -- for copyright reasons, we cannot allow anything from another anime/manga/game series
- The mascot MUST be a full-color, inked design submitted in .jpg or .gif format
- I would prefer animals (they're cuter) but humans are okay, too
- Working in teams are totally ok
- Feel free to PM me with any other questions

Hmmm I wonder if I should dig out that random animalish-thing I creatred many years ago, where the idea just came to me... Maybe it's a sign that he was one day to become a mascot^^ But at the same time, it should be something that expresses "CAA"... Hmm...

I think the kawaii-ness of the mascot is truly the deciding factor for its awesome appeal to several of the judges. Whoever is the cutest mascot will win.

Of course, we haven't ruled out sufficiently cool mecha, but there will certainly have to be a VERY cool one to overcome the AKF*.

Oh, I don't know. The Thunder Megazord from the original Power Rangers always seemed pretty cuddly to me.

I've drawn one. It's cute, but I doubt it'll win. Basically, I only really did this for art purposes.

I can't upload it until prolly... June 10 or there abouts... So, in the mean time, may I tell what it's gonna be, or should I keep it secret?

Oh and the front and back view were kinda poorly done... =\

the character I posted...has a sidekick who is an Antrho Dove.. XD (I am not entering her though) Her name is Super Dove...XD I can't wait to see your desiiign!

Just a question: is there anything in particular you're looking for? For example, do you want a certain look or feel for the character -something that represents kawaii-ness, has a softer expression/feel, spunky look, or something?
Anything you can think of would be great. ^_^ I like designing characters from scratch, but wonder if there's anything in particular as to the 'look/personality/character' of the character (the character of the character... lol! ) that you're looking for.
Eg -what aspect of CAA would you like it to represent?

I'm really hoping for something kinda cute, but not too complicated -- remember, this will probably go on t-shirts, mousepads, etc., and the best will be clean, simple, and will use a limited palate. Something not TOO sugary, because we do want to attract guys as well as gals. Think something fun, maybe asian, distinctive and inviting. We want people to see this and go "oh, that sounds pretty fun!" Chibi is good, too!

Actually, I will probably design a logo for us based on the winning entry (I was a graphic design artist at one point in time), so no worries, I'll handle that one.

I can't draw, but I'd love to give suggestions.

How does everyone feel about an anthropomorphic mascot? I really enjoy them so I suppose that's why I'm giving the suggestion. XD But I really do think they work well as mascots. But I do feel we need a character who has a more common look to themselves instead of just being kawaii adorable.

Also, should it be a boy or a girl? Or should we have both genders? Or something completely genderless? *sighs* I really wish I could draw at this time.
