Large number of users banned for trying to troll the site for a variety of reasons. I won't print them all here.

When such events occur, please do not bring public attention to them by posting "We're under attack" or other such threads. Not only does this give them the attention they want, but it also means they'll be encouraged, spawn more usernames, and make the mess even harder to clean up. In such events, it may be better for system performance to log off for a little while so that the mods can watch more carefully.

If you do notice such behaviour from a user, please report the post through PM or the post reporting system instead of making public threads. A mod may be invisible and able to respond quickly.

I would also like to thank the people who made the reporting and ensured that the person in question did their trolling in isolation without people feeding the frenzy. Thanks, everyone, for dealing with this as well as you could. You can also try to use your ignore list to deal with such users, too. We appreciate the proper response that was shown and it made the clean up much easier.
