This is a poem that I found on my Aunt Paula's fridge. I think Country music artist Martina McBride must've seen it somewhere too:

People are unreliabe, illogical, and self-cented.
LOVE THEM ANYWAY.
If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives.
DO GOOD ANYWAY.
If you are successful, you win false friends and true enemies.
SUCCEED ANYWAY.
The good you do will be forgotten tomorrow.
DO GOOD ANYWAY.
Honesty and frankness make you vulernable.
BE HONEST AND FRANK ANYWAY.
What you spent years building may be destroyed overnight.
BUILD ANYWAY.
People really need help, but may attack you if you help them.
HELP PEOPLE ANYWAY.
Give the world the best you got and you'll get kicked in the teeth.
GIVE THE WORLD THE BEST YOU GOT ANYWAY.

Good words to live by.

It's hard to live a life of integrity and compassion - those are qualities that many do not seem to appreciate, but are vital to living a life worth living.

Thanks for the reminder.
