Yesterday I picked up both Trigun volumes and volume one of Maximum.
I'm halfway through volume one already. I must say I'm enjoying it. The action is cool, the comedy is nice, and the characters are all likeable. The only downside so far is all the swearing, but thankfully there's not too much of that.
EDIT: I never noticed it before in the show, but in the manga Vash looks a lot like Vanilla Ice.
Finally got the Trigun manga yesterday.

I guess he does though. If Vanilla Ice were an anime character, he'd have hair more or less like that. In Maximum he takes on more of a Phoenix Wright-type 'do. Enjoy the comedy now though. A few volumes into Maximum it starts to get more sparse as the action and drama move into the foreground. Oh, it's still very entertaining, it's just not quite as funny.

i tried the first two volumes of Trigun but stopped. i didn't really like it. the art wasn't all that impressive, Vash was beginning to grave on my nerves, the story did not seem to be progressing far at all, and the action did not meet my expectations at all. i was pretty disappointed with the series. i thought it would be the next manga series that i would get into.
