I was at Barnes & Nobles today and found the final chapter of Ranma 1/2.
I had to look through it 3 or 4 times before I realized it really was the
last chapter.
SPOILER:A major character dies. :sniffle:

Lots of series coming to an end these days. 20th Century Boys, Hellsing, Trigun Maximum (the next chapter may very well be it's last), and now Ranma.

Unlike those other series, Ranma 1/2 has been over for a decade though. It's just that Viz only published the last volume in English recently.

Yep I saw it yesterday. But that was the first time I have been to Spokane for awhile. And yes a major character does die at the end.It is quite clear by the way the other characters react. There is no way of getting past it.The English version makes it quite clear on this point. And as I said I had to look at it 3 or 4 times before I was sure that Rumiko Takahashi was serious.
Unless she suddenly decides to add an extra chapter some time, which I highly doubt.
The final chapter is called The Final Chapter.

Who dies then? It's been a long time since I read the last volume, (more like I just have bad memory  ) so I probably forgot.

I wasn't aware that anyone died ... but granted, I've had to speed read my way through the Ranma 1/2 manga series (I read them in Borders, horrible, I know). I thought the last book was a riot at the end, but I don't remember any deaths. o.O

After reading a comprehensive summary, approximately an entire page long explaining the final chapter in detail, I can safely say no one dies in the final chapter.
