Has anyone else read this? I got it not to long ago, and the artwork is absolutely gorgeous.

I have not read it yet. Is it produced by CLAMP? If so, then I will have to check it out. What is the premise behind the story?

As Belldandy said, it is by CLAMP. It's a collection of four stories, all tragic, with kind of cover story to wrap them together. The only objectionable thing that I can think of is in a couple of the stories, animals get killed.

A good read.

Hmmm sounds good! CLAMP pretty much always does an excellent job. ^_^
Is it true that it is more like traditional/ancient Japan where the story takes place?

I read it today in barnes and noble. Excellent, excellent read! I definately recommend it. 5 tragic stories that are all set in winter. The beginning is really nice too; it's in color and very awe-inspiring, IMHO. I definately recommend this for any collection: no nudity, very little blood, no language. A little on the mushy side dialogue wise, but like I said, I truly enjoyed it. I just wasn't ready to spend 20 bucks for the hardcover edition.

Ahhh! Really? I'm such a big supporter of SPCA I couldn't buy this, beautiful artwork or not. I hate to see animals get killed. Is that right? And, I almost bought this last week. Schwoo, glad I stopped myself.

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

A pair of herons, a pack of wild dogs, and a wolf...but you will be happy to know that it wasn't going out to slaughter animals or anything...it had to do with the plot. Personally, I'm not big on animal rights, so it didn't bother me. But I thought I should let you know anyway.

Thanks for letting me know Ashley. I'm a big animal rights advocate, but I'm also a supporter of Texas Right to Life and pro-life. I didn't throw the baby out with the bath water and I think if your heart's big enough you have room to support all life in general. That's more of my two cents. I know a lot of conservatives think that you shouldn't help poor animals or your denying humanity. I think you can do both. Whether that's where you were coming from or not I just wanted to clear that up for those out there who might think that I would trade the importance of humanity over the importance of God's other creatures. ^_^
