Country Anyone?

I used to not like country music, but one of my friends who gives me rides a lot listens to a country station in the car, and I'm finding that a lot of them tell good stories or are just plain fun! Does anyone else like this genre of music?

"Country Roads" by Olivia Newton John is pretty much the only country song that I like.

I like country. Here are some of my favorites:

When we all get to Heaven by Brad Paisley
Cold as Stone and [/i]Wanted you More[/i] by Lady Antebellum
Bleed Red by Ronnie Dunn
Blown Away and Good Girl by Carrie Underwood
Superman and I'm only me when I'm with you by Taylor Swift

I was raised on country music, so I do like it. :D (However, I have no genre preference when it comes to music). Definitely got to go see Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney together in concert this summer, which was pretty rad. (But six hours was a little long for me...)

I'm nooowhere near the huge fan I used to be, but I still enjoy some songs. It isn't my genre of choice, but if I just want to hear the radio it's what I'll listen to.

I like folk music (like First Aid Kit and Daughter), but not typical "county" music.

I really enjoy Johnny Cash, particularly his hits from the 50's, 60's, 70's and 90's (the 80's music was not great). Other than that, I'm not a fan.

I'd probably like country music a lot more if the lyrics weren't so awful to most of the songs. The music itself isn't bad and can be kind of fun to listen to, but the lyrics really ruin it for me for most country songs.

I grew up listening to country (it's about all my mom listens to). I like some country --tend toward "classics" like Patsy Cline, Hank Williams (both Sr. and Jr.), Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, and others. For modern country, I like Garth Brooks, Carrie Underwood (except for a few songs), Reba McIntyre (spelling?), and a few others I can't think of right now.

I'm more of a classic country music fan. Do like some of the stuff from the middle 90's. In the past years, I haven't been a fan of the new country. There is a lot of stuff that is label country now like the Mavericks or John Fogerty.

I like most of Johnny Cash, but I am more of a Bluegrass fan. I think that qualifies as a sub genre of country?
