Rate the song above you...

I'm kind of surprised there isn't a thread like this on here yet...

Basically, you post a song. The next poster posts their rating of the song out of 10 (1 worst - 10 best) and maybe a little comment if they wish about it or whatever, and then posts the link of a song for the next poster to rate. Use your good senses though when posting links... this is a Christian site ;)

(and yeah, people's musical taste isn't gonna appeal to everyone so don't feel bad if someone rates the song you posted low)

I'll start...

Kamelot - The Haunting

If I did like this kind of music I would probably rate it really high, but I'm not a big fan of this kind of music still this was good!

Nothing really thrilled me or stood out about that one. Not much variation. Reminds me of the '90s band, Bush.

(I won't be very good about noting my reasons for the rating I give, so... it'll usually be just the rating from me.)

Not surprised you liked that given your user name :P I'm not sure if your familiar with Kamelot but that song is from their two part concept albums (Epica and The Black Halo) loosely based on Von Goethe's "Faust". That particular song is when Ariel (the Faust character) is explaining to Marguerite that she only reminded him of his dead wife, Helena and so any feelings he showed were not genuine and he doesn't really love her in the way she loves him. But says maybe someday they'll get together again. Lol... WAAAY off topic for this sort of thread but anyway...

6-7/10 I think, and just for the sound, as I've no idea what to make of the lyrics. (I kind of laughed at a few points in the video though.)

No need to even watch the video; just a slide show with no significance to the song.

Hmm, I think the song would been alot better without the dude with dark voice screaming, its not that I dislike screaming but it just wasn't in my taste. :) Still the music itself were really good.

6.5/10

I like the musicianship and everything, but sadly it's entirely to generic for me. I love hardcore/metalcore, I have just heard so much that it takes something special to catch my attention.

In the spirit of all the hard music that is going on, I'll add...

For different reasons, I would give it either a 6.5 or 7/10. Can't decide.

A bit plodding at times, but I dig the nineties grunge-scene vocals. I am a sucker for stuff that sounds like that era in any way, so this sounds good to me.

Animal Collective - My Girls.

Gotta listen to the whole thing to judge it fairly.

Wow, a good Nirvana cover! I did not think it could be done, but they have done it. Loved the use of piano, strings and harp.

Hyetal - "Phoenix." Think David will like this one. Takes a bit to get into it.

6/10... It was a lot better than the original IMO :D But the vocals just weren't cutting it. Lady Gaga is a bit of a guilty pleasure but never liked that song at all.. it's not even fun to dance to.

I just watched this movie last night again for the 1 billionth time so here's a song from that...

Pretty good sound and rhymes; the video was kinda boring, though.

8/10
