I downloaded the new InExordium cd last night (you get emailed a link to download it if you pre-order a copy). It's pretty awesome; by far one of the best Christian metal releases there is, and is right up there with the best of secular metal as well. LOTS of Carcass influence.

This thread needs to be resurrected, so here's my contribution.

http://www.myspace.com/unitednations

Geoff Rickly from Thursday, Daryl Palumbo from Glassjaw, Chree Conger formerly of The Number 12 Looks Like You, Ben Koller from Converge, Eric Cooper from Made Out of Babies, and Jonah Bayer from The Lovekill all teamed up to do a one-off album with influences from all of their bands but doing something closer to grindcore. It's good. I'm greatly enjoying their album. Anyone who likes people from those bands should check it out.

I agree. Back when Knives was here, this thread was pretty busy.

I have been listening to Cor Scorpii:

as well as Silent Civilian:

lately. Both are awesome in their own respects.

This thread is in desperate need of ressurection.

Okay so, alot of big things are happening in the metal community.

Behemoth's new CD was just released, Between the Buried and Me has a brand new studio footage video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Dn-wCaD34o

Converge just put their new song "Dark Horse" up for download.

Also, Every Time I Die's "Wanderlust" will be released soon.
However, after their newest video, I'm compelled to think they should've called it quits after "The Big Dirty."

Is Alice in Chains considered metal? Because I listen to Alice in Chains, Metallica and Led Zeppelin. I know Metallica is metal (at times not so much...) but is Led Zeppelin considered Metal as well?

Alice in Chains has some metal elements at times but they're really just a rock band. And Led Zeppelin is definitely pure rock.

"The Marvelous Slut" and "Wanderlust" are excellent tracks and the music video is sweeeeeet. What are you on about with this "They should've called it quits after 'The Big Dirty'" business? I can't even begin to comprehend that statement, my friend.

Also the title of ETID's new album is New Junk Aesthetic. : )

We've discussed this.

They will, however, never top Hot ****!.
I felt as if that was the perfect blend of their choatic, old school metalcore sound and their raw southern rock sound.

I feel as if the new albums lean more towards the southern rock sound than they should.

Fixed.

Seriously, I hate it when people say a band sucks without even giving a logical reason. Musical taste is objective anyway.

I also enjoy In Flames and Sacrificium.:thumb:

That's actually one of my pet peeves. My bad.

Amon Amarth may have musical talent, but their vocals and lyrics and just the concept of the band ruins it for me.

And by the way, I just relistened to 7 Angels 7 Plagues and it just strikes me as hilarious how many popular bands of today attempt to imitate them and fail.

Like Emmure for example.
One of the stupidest bands to walk to the planet.

Ah it's cool man. So the Viking stuff bothers you? Well they're basically showing an accurrate potrayal of the Norsemen.

I listened to 7 angels 7 plagues and it was extremely good.

Eh...I don't think the Norseman would write metal songs about themselves.
Lol, nah It's just not my cup of tea.

I told you it was going to be good. You gotta believe. It's up on their MySpace, but I'm refusing to listen until Tuesday.

I grabbed the new Advent today because some friends were talking about it. I...really like it.

Ok, first of all, there are almost 900 posts here...that's pretty awesome!

Second, I'm not real into anime/manga anymore, so I don't get on here a whole lot (it's great to see how well this place is doing though!) - I say that so that people know there is no need to PM me to "join" the club or whatever...

And back more to the subject at hand, I've been really digging a band near my neck of the woods called "Forevermore". They have a lot of influence from Texas In July and August Burns Red, so some might think they're a rip off of them. I think they have some unique differences however (actual singing, for example).

Here is a link: http://www.myspace.com/forevermore
