Interesting.
"im personally tired of attacks ad biasing in the christian community those holier than thou people who will atack you for reading anime the pastors here have been known to punish there members for commiting sins"

I'm tired of the same things. In business. People won't take me seriously because I wear a hat. My boss has 'punished' me for it before. But I don't whine.

I don't think you are going to find anyone here who thinks they are being discriminated against because they watch anime. I would suspect that you won't find any here who would say you are being discriminated against either. But that is for another topic.

Lol, and I actually thought that most anime fans are afraid to admit they're Christians rather than the other way around ^^;;

Anime fans should come out of the closet and admit they're Christians! (only if they mean it though)

Moderation People that's the key!!!:)

Postby Benu » Mon Jul 07, 2003 6:37 pm

Everything in Moderation People that's the key!!! :thumb: Any way that's a good point to consider in all things whether in anime or games. But Christianotaku, dude I don't wanna offend you or anything but "give me anime or give me death!!!" is a harsh statement. Dude you should relax and chill if anime is gonna take you too that extreme you should let it go. But there is somthings that people just won't understand but I got the same problem alot of people from my denomination don't uderstand me netheir do any of the youth at my church. No matter what I tell them they still think anything anime is either porn, pokemon, or dragon ball! :rolls_eye But the funny thing is that the youth at my church (epecially the girls) are so quick to condemme me but yet they want to be just like the world the girls slobber all over guys that are perverts and jerks (and they call me a pervert go fig :rolls_eye) and some of the guys talk really perverted all the time and they call me gay because I won't but yet when they see me whatching anime they say it's porn! :comp: Yep that gets me so ticked off. I won't even get started on why they condemme me about christian rock or I'll be here all night ( I think I already have been :hits_self ) But pray about these things if anime affects you that bad then you need to check your self bro.

May the horse be with you.

People who write below their abilities in order to crank out tons of books and make a buck. Especially Christian authors who do that. Outsiders judge us for it, and make fun of us for it, and it makes Jesus look bad. We of all artists on earth should be the most concerned with doing our best possible work at all times. Sorry if we sound that way Christianotaku, but for the record... when Jesus comes, I rather be totally clean from anime and 100% focused on Him instead ^^ Cool down a bit, anime isn't everything ^^

And yeah, the 'closet' thing really did make it sound weird  (darn! I thought that was a good one-liner!!)

A tagline is the (pardon the expression) oldschool name for a signature. It's dates back to the pre-internet days when all we had was a phone with a 300 (or less) baud modem. ("Oh No! The computer is speaking in tongues!") Anyway, the last line of a mesage or post could be randomly pulled from a database (or really bored user). That 40 (later 80) collumn line was called a 'tagline'. It usually contained a favorite quote or funny saying. For more info, see my sig. You can press reload to see a different one.

It's the same on the same page only if you have a browser that decides it has to cache Javascript. I suppose I could pass it a random number (much the same way this board software passes the 'get new' auto_increment value) that would force it to load every time, but that would just delay everyone's being able to view the BBS.

As for why it's different, it's because there is no text in the tagline. It's a set of instructions to go and find the page on my server at flactem.

I'm reminded of science class, where the cell membrane (or cell wall, I can't remember) only lets in stuff that will be good for food, and keeps out the bad.

It's the cell membrane. And that was actually a good analogy. :thumb:

I have had to put up with junk from my friends and family about liking anime. Mostly teasing stuff (my mom calls it Animeeee) and some dumb stuff (she thinks Zoids is too violent but doesn't mind if we watch the Matrix ).

But it gets better as you get older and actually there are a lot less persecutions towards Anime now then there used to. At one time Pokemon and Sailor Moon were the only things people thought of when you said "I like anime."

As to why you are not getting support Christianotaku here is why (I think): We have all had to put up with at least a little teasing. And you are complaining quite bitterly about it. Here is a passage from "The Purpose Driven Life" by Rick Warren that I think will help.
"In order to keep us from becoming too attached to earth, God allows us to feel a significant amount of discountent and dissatisfaction in life -- longings that will never be fulfilled on this side of eternity. We're not completely happy here because we're not supposed to be! ...You will never feel completely satisfied on earth, because you were made for more. .... You will not be in heaven two seconds before you cry out. 'Why did I place so much important on things that were so temporary? What was I thinking? Why did I waste so much time, evergy, and concern on what wasn't going to last?'"

Well now that I typed all that  let me just ask you to pray that God give you the courage to put up with all the junk people are giving you, and remind you that you will have bigger challenges in life that this may be preparing you for.

Trying to explain to my dad what anime is: "Oh, it's those Japanese cartoons with the big eyes." *sigh*

Never mind, I love my folks anyway (after all, we all had a family outing and saw Terminator 3 this weekend -- Dad, Mom and I all luuuuuuuve AAAAAAAAAHNOHLD!).

is this where you want to be when jesus comes back?

This is being taken out of context, but it sparked an interesting idea in me. It would be pretty cool if I was on CAA when Jesus came back. Especially working on a project, or trying to be helpful to another member or something. I mean, sitting in a monatary devoting my life to God if fine, but I imagine Jesus would be happier about me being out in the world devoting my life to God.

Ahem... anyway...
