Interesting old topic about CAA

Postby LecktheTech » Wed Jan 06, 2016 2:10 pm

I was looking around, and I found this link on ANN, and I found it rather interesting. It kinda proves the point that people don't really know why we do what we do.

We don't do anything. CAA's dead.
That thread is also nine and a half years old. In internet time, it's not just old, it's ancient.

I would hate to see CAA die...It would be such a pity.
For those who don't know(like all of you because I havn't said much) I'm an missonary kid in South America. So I find some things interesting that are in all respects dead.

I came here cause I didn't have any friends who liked anime, and it was novel to me that another christian would actually like it too. Maybe the increase in social acceptance means people don't need to turn to the internet to find a kindred spirit anymore.

I don't think that they would be that interested about a forum. I can tell them about CAA though.

Don't listen to Ante. CAA isn't dead. It's in hibernation waiting for spring to come.
In all seriousness, though, I understand where you're coming from. I wish CAA was more alive, too. Who knows, maybe it'll get its old vigor back, sooner than later.

Interestingly enough another news article on a Christian media site was one of our bigger recruiters for a while. If you're wondering about activity, well im not sure but your comment about your cousins not being interested In a forum environment is a common thread we've heard for the last couple years.

Twenty years ago this place might have been a Usenet newsgroup instead, and most of you are giving me blank looks right now.

Technology changes.

It does change. Sometimes I wish the days of Web 1.0 and before would come back though, IRC used to be a much livelier place.

Wasn't it first a Yahoo! group? Not quite a newsgroup or BBS but it's still, to my understanding, quite different from a forum. Disclaimer: I've never participated in a Yahoo! group.

I say we bring back CAA as an IRC channel.
