01/10/2012: Gigavine [ Already Rated ]

This game is definitely my favorite of the Pokemon games. The storyline is magnificent, and the gameplay is very complex. Not to mention a lot of the music is actually worthwhile to listen to, and fits well wit their respective dungeons.

The game's main character (who is the player character) and his/her ally (the Pokemon Spoiler: Grovyle) are less selfish and more courageous than many in real life. They demonstrate this by desiring to change the future in which they live for the better to those who inhabit it, despite having to give up what many would hate to lose, their own existence.

BE AWARE, HOWEVER, that this game is not one you can simply finish in 6-12 hours. It is very long, and I do not recommend renting the game if you intend on finishing. Plus, the story lines are long, and the gameplay and plot are very hard to understand without reading the words. Also, I found the dungeon known as Dark Hill to be exceptionally challenging, and gave it the personal title of the "Fifteen Floors of Fear."

And now for the content:

Violence/Violent References: 3.22/10. Description: As you can certainly expect with any Pokemon game, none of the violence is bloody or graphic. In the dungeons, the most violent move seen is the 1 hit KO move Guillotine, which is not as bad as it sounds. Every move used really only show little attack sprites. I would have lowered the Violence level to a 2/10 if it was not for the violence outside the dungeons. Though mostly non-existant in most cases, the main character, his/her recent partner, and Spoiler: Grovyle are tied to three stockades to be executed by the use of the move Fury Swipes in a frenzy. But thankfully, they bust out of the ropes instead. Also, the main character and his recent partner are forced of the edge and fall down from a very high position which brings them to a dungeon entrance. And finally, a former criminal Pokemon is released after changing his ways, even after his sentence is severe "grilling." that is as bad as it gets.

Nudity: No nudity. In fact, there are not even any visible humans.

Negative Theological Elements: 1.53/10. Description: Time travel is used several times, and there are revival seeds which can instantly heal a Pokemon on the team, and a bright, yellow light shines in the teammate's position. I do not view this as very problematic, but this may be misinterpreted.

Other Negatives: 0/10 Non-existant.
