Brief Description:
Released: 1999
Appropriate for ages 14+

Following the events of Initial D, AE86 driver Takumi Fujiwara is challenged by the Lancer EVO-based "Emperor," a group known for taking decals of racing teams they defeat, cutting them up and placing them on their cars like a fighter plane kill board. Takumi's reputation is on the line as his AE86 is virtually no match against the more powerful and more agile all-wheel-drive EVOs of the Emperor team.

05/11/2012: Xeno [ Already Rated ]

Second Stage of Initial D differs from First Stage in being slightly more realistic and the overall quality of the show being better. A 12 episode series this was far more focused than the series that preceded it.

Violence/Gore: Less accidents occur this time around, however, I've given this one an increased rating due to characters intentional causing others to be hurt. Spoiler: One character pours oil on a roadway to cause a driver to wreck out.

Nudity/Sexual Content: There is a romantic situation between two characters, but nothing is ever seen or implied that anything happens. There are some jokes made about it however.

Theological issues: There is no theology in this anime.

Other potential problems: As with the series before it, this anime is about nothing but street racing, the glory and, in some minor cases, the consequences it brings. If you are able to discern the difference between what is safe and what is not, then this should not be a problem.

Review/Rating Details: The music in these series is very take it or leave it. It's a genre of electronic dance music known as Eurobeat and it came as a melding between Jpop and Happy Hardcore. It's very self-aware of what it is, and it's not trying to save the world, but it's definitely there and can be quite overwhelming.
