Review Violence/Gore - One fight between two teenaged guys.

Nudity/Sexual Content - In the first episode, Jinta seems quite, er, flustered when Menma sits on his lap while they're eating a meal. Later, one person is nearly forced into a love hotel. Virginity is mentioned a few times as well.

Theo. Themes - Menma is a ghost, and only Jinta can see her.

Other Themes - I can't remember exactly, but there is probably some minor swearing. Note that at the time of watching, there was no official release, and fansubs sometimes up the swear level.

Review I'm with ABlipinTime, this series is hard to rate in terms of content. While the objectionable stuff is there, it's completely necessary to the plot and is handled maturely.

Violence/Gore - Some. Brutal fistfights involving gangs at the most.

Nudity/Sexual Content - Nearly nothing. The topic of sex is discussed, but not in an inappropriate way.

Theo. Themes - The strange robot and girl in the dream-ish world from Clannad continue to appear.

Other Themes - One scene of drug use. One character is an alcoholic. Some smoking. Some swearing.

Review The Second Raid really ups the mature matter from the first series in just about every category. I would give the first series a PG-13, while this series is a solid R.

Violence/Gore - Very violent, and can be gory. There were about two scenes that even caused me to flinch and close my eyes, and that rarely happens to me. There is one particularly disturbing scene where a throat gets sliced open, and the insides are visible. Later there is also a rotting human corpse shown.

Nudity/Sexual Content - Visible female top nudity in at least one scene. Two twins take a shower together, and help each other dry off and get dressed, fairly sexually.
One character seduces an enemy at a party in order to get close enough to tranquilize him. Another character ends up at a love hotel with a stranger Spoiler: (With said character having no intention of sex.) And one other character ends up at a prostitute's house. Spoiler: Nothing happens ultimately.

Theo. Themes - Same as the first series.

Other Themes - I watched the dubbed version, and there was a lot of swearing. S**t and f**k are used, with one character going on a rant of sorts in which he uses some variation of f**k before every word in his sentence. Another character goes on a string of s**ts while engaged in battle.
There's also a few scenes with alcohol, and one character becomes clearly buzzed, if not drunk.

Review Violence/Gore - Lots of blood. Lots and lots of blood. When people get hurt, they can get quite bloody. When people are seriously injured, blood often pours out.
As for gore, there isn't much when the characters get hurt normally, it's mostly just blood, but a few scenes stand out as more gory.
The first is when Ed and Al's past is shown. Ed lost his leg and his bleeding leg stump is visible.
The second are the homunculi Being a homunculi, yhey can regenerate, but if their limbs are cut off, they grow back in great detail, first with the bones, then the muscles weaving over top, and the finally the skin growing back.

Nudity/Sexual Content- No sexual content at all. Other than a few hints at romance, there's only a few mentions of finding a date between some of the military members, and a few mentions of Lust's big boobies (She also sports a fairly low-cut outfit)
There's no full-on nudity either. A few characters take showers, but are shown either from behind or have part of the scenery covering them.
One character is shown taking a bath later on, and the outline of her body is visible under the water. It's nothing more than a Barbie doll.
And in one scene even later, one character is taking her shirt off to change clothes, and the underpart of her breasts are shown.

Theo. Themes - Alchemy is used in this series (If the title didn't tip you off already.) It is explained as not being magic, but instead science.
The idea of God and Truth also play a fairly large role in this series. Ed claims he is an atheist, that there is no god, or if there is, then god would just reject him, but as the series goes on, he doesn't always act that way. The Ishvalans worship their god Ishvalla, and one of the antagonists uses Ishvalla to justify his evil deeds. The Homunculi are all named after the Seven Deadly Sins.

Other Themes - This anime can be quite dark at times, and a lot of the characters pasts have many horrors in them. There is a fair bit of swearing, mostly from Ed, but it never goes beyond d-mn, b-stard, or h-ll.
One character is shown with a cigarette in his mouth quite often.
There are a few instances of drinking alcohol, but only by adults. No drunkenness that I recall.

Sub vs Dub - I prefer the dub for the most part. Both sub and dub are great, but I like the dub because it seems more natural for the setting. It also means I can pay closer attention to the fights and the characters expressions.

Review Violence/Gore - A number of the mysteries involve murder, and when the murder is shown, there is often copious amounts of blood, and an occasional decapitation. There are also gun, blade, and fist fights, also involving blood. A number of deaths happen throughout the show.

Nudity/Sexual Content - No fanservice at all, really. However, one character is stated to have been raped and forced to bear a child.

Theo. Themes - A number of ghost stories float around, but they are almost always proven to be fictional or have logical explanations. There is one episode with an oracle-type person who can tell the future, and later on there is a mystery about an alchemist.
Spoiler: There is also an organization called the Ministry of the Occult. However, they're aren't exactly portrayed as being particularly into the occult, although one scene does involve an occult-ish circle on the floor, with candles and stuff.

Other Themes - Victorique puts a pipe in her mouth whenever she's about to figure out a mystery, but she is never seen actually smoking anything.
Wine appears in a few episodes, but I don't think anyone ever gets drunk.

Review Violence/Gore - Very minimal comical violence, if any at all.

Nudity/Sexual Content - Nothing really. This is a romance anime, but it's about as sweet and innocent as you can get.
There is one misunderstanding about one character having a crush on a teacher, but it's only played for comedy.

Theo. Themes - Characters go to a shrine on New Years. There they ring bells and bow to the shrine, as it is a Japanese tradition.

Other Themes - No swearing at all.

- Overall: 9

Review Violence/Gore - It really depends on the episode. Since this series is episodic, the story, problems, and mushi types change every episode. The most gorey ones have mushi that infect people, and sometimes have gross effects. It's never outrightly gorey or violent, though, just creepy.

Sexual Content/Nudity - None. There are few episodes with romance, but it's very low-key and not a problem in the slightest.

Theo. Themes - The series is centered around mushi, which are supernatural...organisms? Whatever they are, they are somehow connected to the flow of energy, and kind of just do their own thing most of the time. They can only be seen by a few people, but can affect anyone.

Other Themes - Ginko is shown smoking almost all the time. However, he does not smoke normal cigarettes. He smokes a special substance that keeps mushi away from him, and he sometimes clouds an entire room with it if needed.

Sub vs Dub - I quite frankly like the dub. The sub is not inferior in any way, but the dub is well done, and this is the type of anime that has sort of a calm, dreamy effect, and watching it English means I don't have to be glued to the screen to read the subtitles.

Review Violence/Gore - Nothing much. A few fights happen, but they're never graphic nor gratuitous.

Nudity/Sexual Content - Holo spends a good deal of the first few episodes stark naked , as well as few scattered scenes later on (the nudity is entirely undetailed, like a barbie doll). Normally, I would be quite annoyed by this, but in this case, it's entirely non-erotic and not the least bit pandering. It's just...there.
Other than that, there's no fanservice to be found here, nor anything really sexual.

Theo. Themes - Christianity versus Paganism is touched upon throughout the show. This church is corrupted and appears to be focused on money, and a number of characters are shown to believe in God. Holo herself is a wolf goddess.

Other Themes - There's a fair bit of drinking, usually at dinner. Holo has the tendency to get drunk, and is shown waking up with a hangover a few times. As for swearing, I watched the dub, which had a few swears (I believe a** and probably d**n and h*ll are in there, but I never took note.)

Review Violence/Gore - Most of the fights are within the digital realm of OZ, and there is sometimes blood. It never goes beyond more than martial arts-esque combat.

Nudity/Sexual Content - One scene with Natsuki has her in a bathroom, helping the younger kids wash up. She's naked, but it's totally non-sexual and undetailed. The little kids are naked as well, but who hasn't seen naked little kids before, eh? Only their bottoms are shown anyhow.
Kenji later steps into the bath with only a towel covering himself as well.
A few members of Natsuki's family also ask whether or not Kenji and Natsuki have "done it" yet, in a fairly joking manner.

Theo. Themes - Japanese traditions are present, but don't play a huge role.

Other Themes - I seem to recall a few characters smoking, and there was some alcohol drinking, but it wasn't too over the top.

The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya (Jump to title)
- Overall: 10
- Violence Rating: 4
- Nudity Rating: 2
- Theological Themes: 5

Review Overall, this movie has about the same type of content as the original series.

Violence/Gore - Virtually nonexistent until much later in the movie, where there is one scene involving a wound and a lot of blood. It lasts only a few minutes, but could still be disturbing to some nonetheless.

Nudity/Sexual Content - If you've seen the first season of Haruhi, then you should be fine with this movie, as there's less fanservice than the series proper. The only real problematic scene I remember is an accidental panty shot.

Theo. Themes - Again, about as much as the TV series. There are certain people who have "powers" so to speak, Y'know, Yuki being an alien, Itsuki having ESP, the usual.
There are two scenes that caught my attention, one near the beginning, and one somewhere in the middle. The first is when Haruhi is talking about Christmas, and she blabbers on about how if they celebrate Christ's birthday, maybe they should celebrate Muhammad and Buddha's too. The second is during a fairly climactic moment involving Kyon, and he wonders who he should pray to. He mentions a number of names, Christ being one of them.

Other Themes - Minor swearing as far as I can remember, in both the sub and dub.
In the beginning of the movie, Haruhi mentions that she won't drink alcohol. That's pretty much it.

Sub vs Dub - I've seen each version twice, and they're both good. I personally prefer Kyon's English voice, but yet prefer Haruhi's Japanese voice. The rest of cast is just fine in either, though I have heard of people who aren't too happy with Yuki's English voice for some reason.
I really can't choose between the sub/dub, and there aren't any substantial changes to the script (no extra swearing, no parts are cut out.)
